Okay, so I don't like using my blog to post negative reviews about products but this is one I really have to post about because I am incredibly angry about how I've been treated by the company, MyTickerScript.com.

Here's the story. As you know I'm a work at home mum as are many of my blog, forum and website visitors. A week or so ago as I was trying to come up with ways of attracting more traffic to my website I thought to myself, hey, why don't I get one of those scripts that create a ticker that people can use in their forum and siggies. Mommy's Little Breastfeeding Book

Many mothers make the decision to breastfeed when they find out they are pregnant. Some do a little research; others wait to let nature take its course. The reality though is often very different from the well-intentioned plans and sadly many mothers fall at the first sign of trouble.

So what can be done to help new mothers breastfeed for longer? Well, fortunately there are a number of excellent breastfeeding books and support services available. I've mentioned many of these before both here and on my website.

Now I've got a new book to add to my selection,  Mommy's Little Breastfeeding Book: 101 Tips Your Baby Wants You to Know About Breastfeeding, written by Michelle Leigh Carnesecca, an experienced lactation consultant and registered nurse.

Welcome to a slightly different Carnival of Breastfeeding. This month we are taking part in Blog Action Day, the theme of which is poverty. I've decided to concentrate on how poverty in terms of  a lack of knowledge and understanding about breastfeeding affects society in general.

Storytelling Key To Child Development

 

Celebrity mum Gail Porter is supporting calls for a 21^{st Century makeover of the art of storytelling as a new report shows it is an essential part of child development.}

The study by kids’ yogurt brand Munch Bunch and child psychologist Dr Richard Woolfson, reveals that 75% of the nation’s mums and dads believe they must tell stories to children to help their development, with 65% saying it helps fuel youngsters creative imagination and 51% see it as a way to calm them.

  I think you'll agree, Angelina Jolie is a fantastic role model for breastfeeding mums everywhere and doesn't she look absolutely fantastic and beautifully serene in this picture of her breastfeeding one of her new twins?

I think what I love most about this photo of Angelina breastfeeding is the tiny little hand reaching out - it reminds me so much of my own time as a breastfeeding mum. Apparently the photo was taken by her hubby, the gorgeous Brad Pitt!

Men and Breastfeeding - The New Frontier

"Blokes, Babies, Breastfeeding" is an Australian first - a fun DVD that takes the subject of breastfeeding and talks directly to dads.

Made by men, for men, and talking the male language, the DVD is full of bloke humour. It explores facts, tips and the subtleties of breastfeeding while informing dads about how they can help to make breastfeeding manageable, successful and as pleasant as possible for their partner.

"Although many of us blokes don’t know it, as dads we have a real role to play in breastfeeding," says Warwick Shanks, creator of the DVD and the Australian concept, Blokes and Babies. "Studies have shown that if males are supportive of breastfeeding, mothers are ten times more likely to do it. So the man’s role is absolutely vital."

Share your Pregnancy Ultrasound Pictures

  As many of you know, alongside this blog I also run BreastfeedingMums.com. Part of that site focuses on pregnancy and I'm looking for pregnancy ultrasound pictures to post on it. I'd absolutley love if you'd consider sharing your images. I'm happy to accept both conventional ultrasound images and 3D/4D images.
