With Christmas just a matter of weeks away, it's time for many of us busy mums and dads to start thinking about perfect gifts for the small people we share our lives with. Having just one week ago given birth to my fourth baby, a little girl to join our other two daughters and son, I'm personally up to my eyes at the moment trying to get things just right.
In our house you can imagine that over the years we've acquired many dressing up costumes for hours of imaginative play, but it's amazing how fast time goes and how much you miss having a tiny tot tottering around in plastic heels, wearing a beautiful Princess gown or Fairy wings. With this in mind and with my new baby girl just starting her journey, I was very keen to review the most wonderful Fairy Princess Play Tent sold by Playhouses.co.uk that I'm convinced any aspiring Fairy or Princess would absolutely love.
With a niece just approaching the age of two and my own baby daughter who before too long will be ready for all things pink and girly, the Fairy Princess Play Tent is a pretty perfect choice of gift for the parents or generous relations of little girls. In fact, when I set up the Fairy Princess Play Tent and invited my niece Molly along to try it out, she moved in immediately, ooohing and aaahing the way two year olds do and she instantly fell in love with the new palace.
Now, at this point you may be asking yourself how easy the tent is to set up. Well, the tent comes boxed and ready to assemble and although most people despair of self assembly, I managed to make up the tent myself (5 days post-partum) without any problems at all. The instructions were clear and concise. In fact, it only took me around 15 minutes to build from start to finish and was perhaps one of the easiest self-assembly jobs I've ever undertaken.
The tent consists of a sturdy wooden frame and some strong plastic connectors. There is the option to screw some provided screws into the wooden frame to hold the connectors in place if you're intending on having a more permanent tent. Once all the pieces are slotted into place, it's simply a matter of placing the canvas cover over the top of the frame and that's it - your Fairy Princess Play Tent is all ready and waiting to thrill a very lucky little girl!
With a front door and three windows all of which can be rolled up or left in a closed position, the tent offers children a place to play or just somewhere quiet that they can retreat to when they want to be alone. It's also surprisingly spacious and would easily accommodate 4, maybe even 5 children and would be the perfect venue for a royal tea party! The colour scheme is a beautiful lilac, pink and purple and the tent is decorated externally with a light sprinkling of flowers and butterflies. For a finishing touch it also features an all important lovely red flag.
As an added bonus, the canvas cover on the Fairy Princess Play Tent has a waterproof coating meaning it can be used both indoors and outdoors.
Priced at a reasonable £74.99, this is one present that won't cost a princely fortune but which will certainly provide hours of fun entertaiment for Princesses and Fairies desperately seeking a place to play.
