Doctors told her there was nothing to worry about. But days after giving birth BBC newsreader Louise Minchin was in agony and fighting for her life.
From early on in her first pregnancy, things didn't go quite right for Louise Minchin.
'I'd never been pregnant before so I had nothing to compare it with, but I was surprised how uncomfortable I started to feel from about four months in,' says the BBC newsreader.
'I started getting periodic stabbing pains in my right side. But whenever I mentioned this to my midwife - I never saw the same one twice - I was always assured this was perfectly normal, that being pregnant isn't always comfortable.'
