Normally, when breastfeeding, I don't like to use body lotions and potions for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I worry that the ingredients may not be all that good for my baby and secondly, I worry that they won't taste very pleasant for her.
However, when I was asked to try Emily Evans Mother Brilliant Bust Cream, a new bust firming cream by mother of three and founder of maternity boutique 9 London, I was interested, not least because the formula contains a special blend of the natural ingredients centella and borage oil which help tone and tighten the bust, but also because, let's face it, after having four babies I feel like I could do with a little help in the bust firming area!
Now, before I go any further, let me make it very clear that breastfeeding in itself does not cause your breasts to become less firm. Many people will try to tell you otherwise, but the fact of the matter is that it is pregnancy that causes the damage! Now that I've cleared that up for everyone, let me continue...
Emily Evans bust firming cream arrived at my door in the most delightful manner, all packaged in a lovely big Harrod's box making me feel very special from the get go!
There was even more visual delight to greet me as, regardless of how good I might feel the product is, the cream's packaging is absolutely delightful. Packaged inside a Russian Doll style carton, the cream is contained within a lovely thick glass bottle which makes a difference to the rather nasty plastic packaging that most body creams come in these days. The bottle needless to say, now takes pride of place on my bathroom shelf.
Now, about the product itself. Well, beautifully presented as it is, that's certainly not the end of the story. Emily Evans Mother Brilliant Bust Cream looks and feels deliciously thick, yet is not in the slightest bit greasy. It appears almost pure white in colour and in fact, to my eyes, looks almost like whipped cream, making it very enticing indeed. It is lightly scented but doesn't overpower as many scented products often do and in using it I was impressed by how easily it glides onto the skin without any stickiness whatsoever. Dispensed with the aid of a little push top pump, the pre-determined amount goes a long way and is absorbed very rapidly. Although after just two weeks use, it is a little soon for me to tell yet whether or not it will have the desired effect, it certainly feels very luxurious after my morning and evening showers and allows me a little pamper time. I've also noticed my skin looking and feeling more conditioned and although it may just be because I want it to, I think it looks a little tighter too! The fragrance also lingers very gently throughout the day and is actually very pleasant.
So far, with regards to my worries that the taste of body cream may not be the most appetising for my baby daughter, I can't say she appears to have noticed any difference and she is still feeding happily and nuzzling into me at every opportunity!
I'm truly enjoying using the cream and if it does what it claims to do I'll be even happier!
Emily is also excited about her bust firming cream stating, “I’ve been wanting to do this for such a long time but having two babies in the space of 18 months has taken up every spare minute.” She goes on to point out, “I truly believe in this product and all the hard work involved in perfecting the bust cream has been completely worth it. I trialled the bust-firming cream with a group of pregnant women and the feedback was absolutely amazing.”
It's good to know that the range of products doesn't stop with the bust firming cream. Emily has also included a soothing menthol foot gel, a miracle oil and a luxurious bath soak in the collection and these complement her maternity clothing range.
If you'd like to try Emily Evans bust firming cream for yourself, it costs £35 for a 250ml bottle and is available through the Harrods website at harrods.com/brand/9-london-by-emily-evans. It will also be available exclusively in-store at Harrods and online at Harrods.com from Friday 3rd August 2012.
